PUFF DONUTS ( baked and fried style )

These breakfast treats have the flavor and texture of cake doughnuts but are as easy to make as muffins. Their soft chewy texture will leave you wanting more.

INGREDIENTS ( BAKING STYLE )
- Oil ( 1/3 )
- All purpose flour ( 1 ¾ cups )
- White sugar ( 3/4 cup )
- Milk ( 3/4 cups
- egg ( 1 )
- Baking powder. ( 1 tbs )
- Salt. ( 1/2 tsp )
- Nutmeg ( 1/2 tsp )
- Ground cinnamon. ( 1/2 tsp )
- Dusting ( ½ cup butter, 1/3 cup sugar mixed with 1 tbs of ground cinnamon )
STEPS
1) Preheat the oven 175 degrees C
2) Coat mini muffin tins with oil or line them with paper cups
3) Place the flour, sugar, milk, oil, egg, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon in a bowl and mix. Mix the dough by hand until well combined and fill the muffin tin with dough.
4) Bake for 15 mins. Let them cool a little bit and dip the, in the butter and dust them.
INGREDIENTS ( FRYING STYLE )
- Water ( 1 cup )
- Sugar ( 2 1/2 tbs )
- Salt ( 1/2 tsp )
- Oil ( 2 tbs ) + oil for frying
- All purpose flour ( 1 cup )
- Cinnamon. ( 1 tsp )
STEPS
1) In a small saucepan over medium, combine water, sugar, salt and 2 tbs of vegetable oil.
2) Bring to a boil and remove from heat, stir in the mixture form a ball.
3) Heat the oil for frying in a deep fryer or deep pot. Make small balls and fry them until golden brown. Do not over crowd the oil. Use the sugar and cinnamon to dust the donut puffs ( This same recipe can be used to make churros )
There you go~ super easy and soft puff donuts ready in minutes
